About the role
We are seeking an experienced HR Director to lead the human resources function across Europe and India for a global construction consultancy. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will partner with senior regional leaders to transform HR into a strategic, value‑adding business partner during a period of operational transformation.
Key responsibilities
- Act as trusted HR business partner to the CEO and senior regional leadership, providing proactive solutions.
- Lead and develop a multi‑person, in‑country HR team, managing local resources across the region.
- Own succession planning, talent development and organisational culture initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
- Design and deliver employee engagement strategies with measurable impact.
- Provide oversight and escalation support for employee relations matters, including sensitive grievances.
- Navigate complex cross‑border employment law, visa/work‑permit and global mobility requirements.
- Contribute to the global parent company's HR leadership team and support a major HR systems/ERP transformation programme.
- Collaborate with group‑level HR leadership worldwide to ensure alignment of regional and global people strategies.
Required profile
- Significant HR leadership experience, including several years at an executive director/VP level.
- Proven track record leading HR across multiple countries simultaneously.
- Hands‑on experience personally driving strategic HR initiatives such as succession planning, talent and culture transformation, or engagement strategy with measurable outcomes.
- Direct management experience of in‑country/local HR teams.
- Comfort operating in a complex cross‑border legal and compliance environment.
- Experience supporting or leading a multinational HR systems/ERP implementation (specific platform not required).
- Curious, hands‑on, pioneering mindset, comfortable both with strategic thinking and practical execution.
- Fluent English; additional European languages are a plus.
- Background in engineering, infrastructure, construction or project‑based professional services is preferred but not essential.
