Tax & External Reporting Accountant

About the role

TMS is looking to recruit a Tax & External Reporting Accountant to join its Finance & Accounting team in Athens. The role maintains complete compliance documentation, coordinates with external business partners and internal stakeholders, and supports the timely review and submission of tax and statutory information.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain effective oversight of company tax compliance obligations and monitor filing deadlines.
• Coordinate tax and statutory obligations across assigned legal entities and jurisdictions.
• Maintain accurate and current records of statutory and tax filings.
• Coordinate audit documentation and follow up on outstanding information.
• Assist with the review of accounts, filings, and related documentation before submission.
• Monitor relevant compliance and reporting requirements.
• Maintain agreements, authorizations, and other governance records.
• Coordinate compliance matters with internal teams and external professional advisors.
• Contribute to departmental projects and additional Finance & Accounting activities as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Professional experience in accounting, tax compliance and financial reporting.
• Good knowledge of Greek accounting principles and tax requirements.
• Previous experience in the shipping industry or an international multi‑entity environment.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to accuracy and deadlines.
• Effective communication skills and confidence when coordinating with stakeholders.
• Fluency in English, both oral and written.
