Senior Accountant

About the role

Adecco HR is seeking on behalf of its client, a global leader in insurance brokerage, risk management and consulting services, a Senior Accountant to manage accounting operations and support month‑end and year‑end close processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounting operations.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close process.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and IFRS principles.
• Prepare financial statements, journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and tax forms (VAT, WHT, Income Tax).
• Reconcile sub‑ledger to general ledger account balances.
• Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a structured Accounting Department, preferably within a multinational or large organization.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Solid knowledge and hands‑on experience with MyDATA reporting requirements.
• Proven experience preparing financial statements and balance sheets in accordance with Greek Accounting Standards (ELP) and IFRS.
• Strong experience in VAT compliance, tax reporting and corporate income tax matters.
• Experience collaborating with external auditors and supporting statutory audit processes.
