Software Engineer - CMS Payment Integrations

About the role

EveryPay, the digital financial infrastructure behind the Skroutz Group, is looking for a Software Engineer to join its Product & Engineering team. The team keeps the backend systems robust, secure and scalable, and this role focuses on the plugins and integrations that let merchants accept payments through CMS and ecommerce platforms. The workplace is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain CMS payment plugins and integrations for platforms such as WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, OpenCart or similar ecosystems.
• Develop merchant-facing payment flows, including checkout, redirects, callbacks, webhooks, refunds, transaction status updates and error handling.
• Make plugins secure, maintainable, well documented and easy for merchants or partners to install and operate.
• Improve code quality, architecture, performance, observability and developer experience.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to integrations, CMS environments, payment flows and third-party systems.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineering leads, support teams and other engineers.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Experience building, maintaining or extending CMS plugins, ecommerce modules or third-party integrations.
• Understanding of CMS/ecommerce concepts such as plugin lifecycle, configuration, checkout flows, order states, hooks/events and version compatibility.
• Commitment to unit and integration testing, a security mindset and clear communication with engineers and non-engineers.
• Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines in a team setting; completed military obligations if applicable.

Required skills

• PHP 8.2+ with strict types, OOP and PSR standards (or equivalent backend language)
• MariaDB, MongoDB, Node.js, React, React Native
• AWS (ECS, Lambda, SNS, SQS, ECR), Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions
• Nice to have: DDD, CQRS, AWS SQS/Lambda/ECS, fintech or payments background, message queues
