Data Engineer

About the role

Epignosis, a Greek SaaS company behind products such as TalentLMS, eFront, TalentCards and TalentHR, is looking for a Data Engineer to join its Data Team and help implement its Data Transformation project. The role covers designing, developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines and workflows, managing data infrastructure and collaborating with Developers, DevOps and AI Engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize database performance, applying tuning measures while protecting data integrity and security.
• Provide proactive and reactive data management support, including user training and troubleshooting.
• Work with developers to optimize queries and design efficient database schemas.
• Collaborate with the AI team on AI-driven initiatives.
• Design, develop and maintain ETL pipelines to process and integrate data from multiple sources.
• Partner with engineering teams to understand data needs and deliver data solutions.
• Implement data modeling for relational and non-relational databases such as Aurora and DynamoDB.
• Optimize data workflows and storage, and ensure data quality through validation and cleaning.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Python and Apache Spark for large-scale data processing.
• SQL and hands-on database management experience.
• AWS (S3, Glue, Lambda).
• NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and DynamoDB.
• ETL/ELT pipeline design and optimization.
• Data modeling, data lakes and data warehousing; BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI or QuickSight.
