Senior Banking & Finance Lawyer – Counsel Level (Athens)

About the role

Our client, a top‑tier commercial law firm in Athens, is seeking a high‑calibre Banking & Finance lawyer at Counsel level. You will lead a major mandate focused on acquiring and servicing both non‑performing and performing loan portfolios for a premier institutional client.

Key responsibilities

• Structure, draft and negotiate complex loan portfolio acquisition transactions.
• Advise on legal frameworks for ongoing loan servicing and management.
• Serve as the primary relationship contact for a leading institutional client.
• Mentor junior associates and manage deal teams to ensure seamless delivery.
• Navigate Greek and EU banking regulations, central bank guidelines and servicing laws (e.g., Law 4354/2015).

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years post‑qualification experience in a top‑tier law firm or in‑house legal department.
• Proven track record in banking and finance law, especially loan portfolios (NPLs/SPLs) and securitisations.
• Qualified lawyer admitted to the Greek Bar Association.
• Native Greek and professionally fluent English (written and spoken).
