Senior Associate – Capital Markets (Athens)

About the role

Our client, a leading independent Greek law firm, is expanding its Capital Markets team in Athens. The Senior Associate will work on high‑profile Greek and cross‑border transactions, advising listed companies, financial institutions, and investors on complex capital‑markets and corporate matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on equity and debt capital‑markets transactions, including IPOs, rights issues, secondary offerings and bond issuances.
• Support public M&A transactions, tender offers and takeover‑related matters.
• Provide securities‑law and regulatory advice, ensuring compliance with Greek and EU capital‑markets rules.
• Deliver ongoing advisory to listed companies on corporate governance, disclosure obligations, market abuse and shareholder issues.
• Draft and negotiate transaction documentation, prospectuses, offering memoranda and related legal papers.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, financial advisers, underwriters and other stakeholders.
• Manage transaction workstreams and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Qualified Greek lawyer admitted to the Athens Bar.
• 6–10 years of post‑qualification experience in a leading law firm or comparable in‑house environment.
• Significant experience in capital‑markets and securities law, with exposure to ECM and/or DCM transactions.
• Strong knowledge of Greek corporate law, capital‑markets regulation and EU financial‑services legislation.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and project‑management skills.
• Fluent in Greek and English, both written and spoken.
