Principal HW System Architect (f/m/d)

About the role

Renesas Electronics is looking for a Principal Hardware System Architect in Kallithea, Athens. The role helps Marketing turn customer and standardization body requirements into advanced SoC architectures and detailed target specifications, and drives the architecture of the division's connectivity SoCs toward low power, small size and low cost.

Key responsibilities

• Help Marketing translate customer and standardization body requirements into SoC architectures and detailed target specifications.
• Define innovative, robust architectural plans for connectivity SoCs targeting lowest power consumption, smallest system size and lowest cost.
• Derive new concepts and IP blocks for future-oriented ICs, including external IP selection and vendor relationships.
• Drive the feasibility assessment of new product platforms.
• Conduct performance evaluation and simulation of SoC architectures (e.g. bus and cache performance).
• Generate documentation such as objective specifications, datasheets, verification plan and production test plan.
• Scan related technologies and market trends and carry out competitive analysis.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc degree in Electronics.
• Detailed technical experience in system definition and concept engineering within the semiconductor industry.
• Solid working experience as a system architect, ideally with a proven track record.
• Ability to analyse complex, sometimes vague client propositions using internal technical know-how and knowledge of customer systems.
• Fluent English and good communication skills; able to build and maintain internal networks among peers and designers.

Required skills

• Strong technical background, ideally in embedded System on Chips with microcontroller, DSP, RF and analog mixed-signal content.
• Good understanding of IC design and manufacturing processes.
• System-level know-how of low-power wireless systems and protocols such as Bluetooth and WiFi.
• Solid understanding of embedded SoC architectures, embedded systems and embedded software architectures.
