Practical Mechanic - Hotel Engineering

About the role

Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens is looking for a skilled and reliable Practical Mechanic to join its Engineering team. The role keeps the hotel's mechanical systems, equipment and infrastructure running safely and smoothly, working closely with the Engineering Management team and other departments. It is a full-time, permanent position with five working days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the Rules and Regulations of the Employees Handbook and the hotel's fire, hygiene, health and safety policies.
• Attend staff meetings and departmental and hotel training as scheduled.
• Carry out reasonable additional tasks assigned by the Assistant Director of Engineering or Assistant Engineering Manager.
• Handle confidential matters with tact and discretion.
• Check daily, in person and via the BMS, all MEP rooms and record the condition and operation of plant room machinery; ensure mechanical systems run properly.
• Maintain and repair mechanical systems, parts, machinery and infrastructure, and keep plant rooms clean and safe.
• Keep accurate work logs for engineering repairs and respond to maintenance requests and emergencies such as fires or power failures.

Required profile

• Previous experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a hotel, resort or hospitality setting.
• Good knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment and maintenance practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and good organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to respond to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Professional and courteous approach with guests, employees and other departments.
• European passport or legal right to work in Greece.
• Fluency in English is an advantage.
