Assistant Restaurant Manager - Taverna 37

About the role

Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager for its Taverna 37 restaurant, a full-time permanent position. Taverna 37 serves authentic Greek hospitality with traditional meze, fresh seafood and grilled specialties. The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the Restaurant Manager in running daily operations, develops the team and works with the Food & Beverage leadership to deliver the Four Seasons experience.

Key responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operation of Taverna 37 and maintain exceptional service standards.
• Supervise, coach, motivate and develop the restaurant team.
• Assist with scheduling, payroll, labour planning and operational administration.
• Coordinate with Culinary, Stewarding, Purchasing, Housekeeping and Engineering.
• Lead the team during service and build strong guest relationships.
• Monitor service quality, guest satisfaction and operational standards, and take corrective action.
• Support inventory management, purchasing requirements and cost control.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hygiene procedures.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, employee engagement and performance evaluations.

Required profile

• Previous supervisory or management experience in restaurant operations or food & beverage in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English is essential; Greek is an advantage.
• European passport or legal right to work in Greece.

Required skills

• Excellent food and beverage knowledge.
• Familiarity with Greek cuisine and wines is an advantage.
