Multi-Physics Simulation Technical Lead – Food Processing

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on technical leader to design and deliver multi‑physics simulation models for food manufacturing processes. You will guide a small team, integrate advanced physics with AI, and create digital twins that accelerate product and process development.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and validate simulation models for unit operations such as extrusion, baking, drying, mixing and fermentation.
• Integrate heat and mass transfer, rheology, reaction kinetics, structural mechanics and CFD into unified multi‑physics frameworks.
• Apply numerical methods (FEM, FDTD, FVM, DEM, ODE/PDE solvers) to solve real food‑science problems.
• Use generative AI and LLM‑based coding agents to speed up model creation and link outputs to formulation databases.
• Mentor simulation engineers, define modelling standards and drive the technical roadmap for digital twins.

Required profile

• Ph.D. or equivalent R&D experience in computational mechanics, food/chemical process engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in multi‑physics simulation, preferably in food or bioprocess engineering.
• Proven track record leading technical projects and mentoring engineers or scientists.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex concepts to multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience working with rheology and phase behavior of complex soft matter is a plus.

Required skills

• Python programming (plus MATLAB, C++ or Fortran).
• FEM, FDTD, FVM, DEM and continuum mechanics.
• CFD and multiphase, non‑Newtonian flow simulation.
• Simulation platforms such as COMSOL Multiphysics, ANSYS, Abaqus or OpenFOAM.
• Generative AI, Large Language Models and ML surrogate modelling.
