Lawyer in Energy Law

About the role

Karatzas & Partners is seeking a qualified lawyer to join its Energy Law team. The successful candidate will work on high‑profile project finance and M&A transactions, providing regulatory advisory and compliance support for natural gas and renewable energy sectors in Greece.

Key responsibilities

• Assist on a wide range of energy projects, focusing on project finance and M&A deals.
• Provide regulatory advisory, risk assessment, and due‑diligence services.
• Advise large national and multinational corporate clients on energy law and policy issues.
• Collaborate with international legal teams and contribute to global workstreams.
• Maintain direct contact with Greek regulatory authorities and apply regulatory knowledge to everyday compliance matters.

Required profile

• Greek law degree with bar admission, allowing practice as a Greek lawyer.
• Hands‑on experience in energy law transactions related to renewables and natural gas.
• LLM or comparable postgraduate qualification in energy law.
• Strong understanding of the Greek energy regulatory framework and recent EU Target Model developments.
• Ability to analyse regulatory requirements and deliver practical client advice.
• Experience with Greek energy regulatory authorities is a significant plus.
