Head of Accounting

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Head of Accounting to lead and oversee the accounting function across the Group’s companies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in an organized accounting department, strong knowledge of Greek tax legislation, and the ability to manage a team effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations of the Group’s companies and define responsibilities within the accounting team.
• Supervise the payroll process in cooperation with an external payroll provider.
• Manage expense classification and compliance within myDATA.
• Coordinate and prepare documentation for the annual financial statements with external advisors.
• Configure and operate systems related to electronic movement and invoicing of goods.
• Monitor domestic and international certifications and prepare regular financial and management reports for senior management.
• Identify potential financial and operational risks and provide timely recommendations to Management.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting, tax and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 15+ years of professional experience in an organized accounting department, preferably in a managerial or supervisory position.
• Excellent knowledge of Greek accounting and tax legislation.
• Strong leadership, people management, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strategic thinking, results‑oriented approach, and excellent communication and presentation skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with myDATA.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
