Finance Manager – International School, Athens

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Finance Manager to join an established international school in Athens. The role combines hands‑on accounting work with broader responsibilities in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting, supporting both the school’s daily operations and group‑level reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow statements.
• Support Greek corporate tax, VAT and other statutory filings.
• Manage bank reconciliations, payment processing and day‑to‑day cash‑flow monitoring.
• Maintain vendor accounts and ensure accurate accounting records and internal controls.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts (4+8 and 7+5 cycles).
• Provide information for group reporting and support internal and external audits.
• Work within the school’s accounting system and adhere to group finance policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Senior Accountant or in a similar senior finance role.
• Strong hands‑on accounting background with solid knowledge of month‑end close, reconciliations and bookkeeping.
• Working knowledge of Greek tax and statutory requirements.
• Experience in budgeting and forecasting, and the ability to oversee junior team members.
• Professional level English communication skills.
• Relevant qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA (part‑qualified or newly qualified) is advantageous.
