Accountant – Tax & Compliance Specialist

About the role

Full ownership of accounting infrastructure for a group of companies, including balance sheet preparation, cost allocation by project, payment orders and daily handling of high‑volume accounting data.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accurate trial balances per company/project at a detailed level.
• Build and maintain chart of accounts and accounting procedures.
• Allocate costs across projects/properties, separating shared and project‑specific expenses.
• Track expenses versus budget and reconcile against contracts and documentation.
• Prepare payment orders for CFO approval.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations.
• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual closings on time and accurately.
• File regular AADE returns (VAT, withholding tax, ENFIA, E.F.A.) via myAADE/Taxisnet.
• Ensure all statutory deadlines are met to avoid penalties.
• Manage tax audits end‑to‑end, including documentation and reconciliation with authorities.
• Maintain e‑EFKA standing and timely APD submission.
• Monitor tax/insurance clearance validity and own every compliance matter through to final closure.

Required profile

• Hands‑on bookkeeping experience through to trial balance (journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals, provisions, monthly closings).
• Execution‑level role, not purely supervisory.
• Valid "Accountant–Tax Consultant" license (Λογιστής‑Φοροτεχνικός), Class A.
• Solid grasp of debit/credit logic and strong analytical skills with large data volumes.
• High accuracy, organization, and ability to work independently to deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP/INDEX‑MATCH, pivot tables, nested SUMIFS/COUNTIFS).
• Power Query.
• VBA/Macros (a plus).
• Knowledge of Greek tax law (VAT, ENFIA, E.F.A., withholding) and international corporate structures.
