About the role
The Electrical Technician will support ASSO Group's offshore equipment manufacturing and service activities. The role focuses on assembling, wiring, testing, commissioning, maintaining and overhauling low and medium voltage electrical systems and equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Assemble and wire Low Voltage and Medium Voltage control panels according to schematics, wiring diagrams and layout drawings.
- Perform electrical installation, wiring and integration of offshore machinery and subsea equipment.
- Overhaul, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot and test electric motors.
- Carry out continuity, insulation resistance, functional and pre‑commissioning tests before Factory Acceptance Testing.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, single‑line diagrams, cable schedules, terminal plans and panel layout drawings.
- Ensure compliance with project documentation, quality standards and electrical regulations.
- Assist with stock control and handling of electrical components.
- Support on‑site installation, commissioning and offshore service activities when required.
Required profile
- Degree or Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical panel assembly, wiring or industrial control panel manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of LV and MV power distribution and control circuits.
- Experience in electric motor overhaul, inspection, testing and troubleshooting.
- Experience with LV/MV switchgear, transformers, Variable Frequency Drives (preferably Siemens SINAMICS), PLC hardware and protection relays is an advantage.
- Experience in marine, offshore, industrial automation or heavy equipment manufacturing is a plus.
Required skills
- Electrical panel assembly and wiring (Low Voltage & Medium Voltage)
- Interpretation of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and cable schedules
- Use of electrical test equipment: multimeter, insulation resistance tester (Megger), continuity tester, phase rotation meter
- Electric motor overhaul and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of LV/MV switchgear, transformers and Variable Frequency Drives
- PLC hardware and protection relay handling
