About the role

The Electrical & Automation Engineer – Offshore Operations provides office‑based support for fault management, maintenance planning, spare‑parts control and mobilization of subsea robotic equipment. The role acts as the first point of contact for electrical and automation faults reported from vessels, coordinating resolutions with field technicians and on‑shore specialists. Occasional field visits may be required during active campaigns.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive, log and triage electrical/automation faults from vessels and assess their complexity.
  • Guide ship‑based technicians to resolve straightforward faults remotely.
  • Escalate complex issues to on‑shore engineers and coordinate follow‑up until resolution.
  • Plan, track and document preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for deployed equipment.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, test records, electrical schematics and equipment history in internal databases.
  • Manage spare‑parts inventory, monitor consumption trends and coordinate re‑ordering, entering data in SAP (or similar ERP/PMS).
  • Prepare equipment, tooling and spare‑parts lists for mobilizations and coordinate with mechanical, hydraulic and operations teams.
  • Provide field support when required, travelling to offshore sites for inspections or mobilizations (up to 60 days per year).

Required profile

  • Degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2‑4 years of hands‑on experience as an electrical engineer or technician in an industrial environment.
  • Solid knowledge of medium‑ and low‑voltage equipment such as motors, VFDs, transformers and switchgear.
  • Ability to assess and triage electrical/automation faults and communicate clearly with field technicians and specialists.
  • Basic exposure to PLC programming (Siemens S7 preferred) and SCADA/HMI systems.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams and basic automation schematics.
