Director of Sustainability

About the role

Six Senses is seeking a Director of Sustainability to embed its core values of local sensitivity, global sensibility, and pioneering wellness across the Zil Payson resort. The role will protect and advance the sustainability, wellness, and unique experience pillars that define the brand.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of the resort‑specific Sustainability Action Plan and ensure compliance with Six Senses sustainability guidelines.
• Manage the Sustainability Fund, overseeing monthly collection, transparent distribution, and documentation of supported projects.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with community organisations, schools, local government, and tourism bodies.
• Design and deliver monthly sustainable host events and guest‑focused initiatives such as Earth Day, World Ocean’s Day, and shoreline clean‑ups.
• Collaborate with Human Resources and department heads to provide sustainability training and embed practices throughout operations.
• Monitor industry trends, continuously assess products and services for relevance, innovation, and alignment with Six Senses wellness standards.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in sustainability, preferably within hospitality or tourism.
• Strong track record of managing budgets, funds, and reporting on sustainability projects.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with external partners and internal teams.
• Ability to inspire and engage staff in a culture of sustainability.

Required skills

• Knowledge of sustainability standards, certifications, and best practices.
• Experience with sustainability reporting and fund management.
• Familiarity with community outreach and partnership development.
