Director of Procurement

About the role

The Director of Procurement will lead all purchasing activities for the upcoming Rosewood Blue Palace in Elounda, Crete. Reporting to senior hotel management, you will develop and execute procurement strategies that align with the brand’s vision while ensuring cost‑effective, high‑quality supply of food, beverage and non‑food items.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement procurement strategies that support the hotel’s long‑term objectives.
• Manage the full procurement cycle for food, beverage, and non‑food categories, negotiating contracts and tenders to secure best value.
• Maintain a “just‑in‑time” inventory system, setting par stocks with department heads to minimise excess holding.
• Monitor supplier performance, renegotiate pricing, and drive continuous cost‑reduction initiatives using Total Cost of Ownership and value‑analysis methods.
• Track daily spend, report variances to department heads, and collaborate with finance to meet cost‑saving targets.
• Lead and develop the Purchasing Department, fostering a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in procurement within the hospitality or related sector.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering cost savings and value‑added solutions.
• Excellent negotiation skills and ability to manage complex supplier relationships.
• Leadership experience, capable of motivating and developing a procurement team.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
