Tax Audit Associate / Senior Associate

About the role

Join PwC's Tax Certificate team in Athens to conduct tax audit procedures, prepare tax certificates and ensure compliance with Greek tax legislation. You will work in a dynamic environment, supporting clients as they grow and innovate.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct tax audit procedures following PwC methodology and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and issue Tax Certificates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Greek tax law.
• Review accounting records, financial statements and tax filings to identify discrepancies or risks.
• Perform analytical procedures and tests to verify correct tax treatment of transactions.
• Prepare working papers and documentation to support audit conclusions.
• Communicate with clients to clarify issues, request information and provide updates.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations relevant to the Tax Certificate process.
• Supervise and mentor junior consultants (Senior Associate level).

Required profile

• Relevant professional experience in Tax Audit, External Audit, Accounting or Tax Compliance.
• Strong academic background in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration from a Greek top‑tier university.
• Professional qualifications such as IESOL, ACCA or postgraduate studies in taxation are highly regarded.
• Solid understanding of Greek tax and accounting legislation.
• Excellent communication skills in Greek and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with myDATA and other accounting software tools.
• Advanced computer literacy, especially MS Office applications.
