Tax Audit Associate / Senior Associate

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious and self‑driven Associate or Senior Associate to join our Tax Certificate team in Athens. You will conduct tax audit procedures, prepare tax certificates, and ensure compliance with Greek tax legislation while supporting clients through complex tax matters.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct tax audit procedures in line with PwC methodology and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and issue Tax Certificates, guaranteeing accuracy and compliance with Greek tax law.
• Review accounting records, financial statements and tax filings to spot discrepancies or risks.
• Perform analytical procedures and tests to verify correct tax treatment of transactions.
• Prepare working papers and documentation supporting audit conclusions.
• Communicate with clients to clarify issues, request information and provide updates.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations relevant to the Tax Certificate process.
• Collaborate with team members and project managers to ensure timely, high‑quality engagements.
• Assist in tax research and support ad‑hoc projects.
• Supervise and mentor junior consultants (Senior Associate level).

Required profile

• Relevant professional experience in Tax Audit, External Audit, Accounting or Tax Compliance.
• Excellent academic background from a Greek top‑tier university in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• Professional qualifications (e.g., IESOL, ACCA) and postgraduate studies in taxation are highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of Greek tax and accounting legislation.
• Fluent in Greek and English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Tax Certificate procedures (e.g., Annual Tax Compliance Report).
• Experience with myDATA platform.
• Proficiency in accounting software tools.
• Advanced computer literacy, especially MS Office applications.
