SysOps Engineer

About the role

Netcompany is hiring a SysOps Engineer in Athens to join its Systems Management and DevOps Services team. The team operates, supports and improves complex enterprise environments across on-premises infrastructure and AWS, working with Linux, automation, containers, monitoring, databases and CI/CD platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and troubleshoot Linux environments, including users, packages, upgrades, storage, services and firewalls
• Operate and support infrastructure across AWS, on-premises and virtualized environments
• Automate configuration, deployments, backups and operational tasks with Ansible and Bash
• Configure and support HAProxy, GitLab, GitLab runners and CI/CD pipelines
• Run Kubernetes, Helm, Docker and Docker Compose environments
• Manage and troubleshoot Elasticsearch, Kibana and APM
• Install and maintain MongoDB and MySQL, including backups, SSL/TLS, users and privileges
• Support OpenStack operations, including virtual machines, networking, resizing and storage
• Configure Prometheus and Grafana dashboards, alerts and metrics
• Troubleshoot big data platforms such as Spark, Hadoop HDFS, Hive and Airflow
• Investigate incidents, improve system reliability and maintain technical documentation

Required profile

• BSc degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in Systems Administration, SysOps, DevOps or a similar role
• Strong Linux administration, Ansible and Bash scripting experience
• Hands-on AWS and on-premises infrastructure experience
• Virtualized or private cloud experience, preferably OpenStack
• Good understanding of networking, security, backups, high availability and troubleshooting
• Excellent communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills, able to work under pressure during operational incidents
