Social Worker – Unaccompanied Migrant Children

About the role
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Social Worker to support unaccompanied migrant children (UMC) residing in one of its accommodation centres in Athens. The role involves delivering a range of protective and developmental services within a humanitarian shelter environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day assistance and care to UMCs, ensuring their basic needs are met.
- Coordinate and facilitate access to legal counselling, medical support, and psychosocial services.
- Organise interpretation, Greek language learning programmes and intercultural activities.
- Support the Shelter Coordinator in planning work‑ and career‑guidance sessions.
- Maintain accurate records of services delivered and report to the Project Coordinator.
Required profile
- University degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
- Licensed Social Worker and membership with the Association of Greek Social Workers.
- Master’s degree in a related field is an advantage.
- Minimum one year of relevant professional experience; experience with children is an asset.
