Project Assistant (Child Protection)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Assistant to support its child‑protection programme in Greece. Working under the Deputy Chief of Mission and the National Cluster Coordinator for Unaccompanied Migrant Children, the assistant will help implement activities that provide safe accommodation, care and protection for unaccompanied migrant children and other vulnerable beneficiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, coordination and monitoring of project activities related to unaccompanied migrant children.
• Support partners in delivering accommodation and care services in Emergency Accommodation Facilities.
• Collect, verify and input data for reporting and evaluation purposes.
• Prepare routine administrative documents, meeting minutes and progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with IOM protection standards and UN guidelines.
• Facilitate communication between field teams, partners and headquarters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Social Sciences, International Relations or a related field.
• Experience or academic background in migration, child protection or humanitarian assistance.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and handle sensitive information.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Fluent written and spoken English; knowledge of Greek is an advantage.
