Senior SOC Engineering Consultant

About the role

NVISO is looking for a Senior SOC Engineering Consultant to design, build and operate the technical backbone of its Managed Security Services. Based in Greece, you will work on a range of SIEM, XDR and cloud platforms, ensuring high‑quality telemetry and detection for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Onboard new customer log sources into SIEM platforms (Microsoft Sentinel, Elastic Cloud) using native connectors or managed forwarders.
• Design, deploy and maintain load‑balanced log forwarding infrastructure in customer environments.
• Develop parsers, normalization and enrichment logic to feed reliable data into detection pipelines.
• Configure and integrate EDR/XDR solutions (Microsoft Defender, Cortex XDR, SentinelOne) and cloud monitoring (Azure, AWS) into the MSS stack.
• Support detection engineers with rule deployment, testing and AI‑enabled automation.
• Contribute to core platform components (Azure Functions, Durable Tasks, Bicep IaC) and self‑service onboarding capabilities.

Required profile

• Citizenship of a NATO member state or Austrian citizenship.
• Strong communication skills in English, ability to work independently and mentor junior colleagues.
• Team‑oriented, mission‑driven attitude with a focus on delivering high‑signal alerts.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with a major SIEM platform (Microsoft Sentinel, Elastic, Splunk).
• Proficiency in Python and API‑based automation.
• Experience with log forwarding technologies (Logstash, Elastic Agent, syslog collectors).
• Knowledge of EDR/XDR solutions (Microsoft Defender XDR, Cortex XDR, SentinelOne).
• Familiarity with Azure and/or AWS security telemetry.
• Exposure to Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Bicep, Terraform) and Azure Functions.
• Experience developing AI/LLM‑enabled automation is a strong plus.
