Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

Dyania Health is looking for a Senior Machine Learning / Software Engineer to design, build and deploy scalable ML-driven systems that power biomedical information processing. You will own the full lifecycle of ML-powered microservices, from model development and evaluation to deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement, while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with product, UX and clinical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and deploy ML-powered software components within a microservice architecture.
• Lead the development and production of NLP and transformer-based models for biomedical information processing.
• Own the full ML lifecycle: data preparation, training, evaluation, optimization, deployment and inference at scale.
• Architect scalable and maintainable ML infrastructure and services.
• Work with product, UX and clinical stakeholders to prototype new capabilities quickly.
• Analyse model and system performance and communicate findings and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural discussions and technical decisions.
• Champion engineering best practices such as testing, CI/CD, version control and documentation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of industry experience in machine learning-focused software engineering (excluding internships and academic projects).
• Bachelor's or graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience training, testing, deploying and serving ML models in production.
• Experience with transformer architectures and NLP applications, and with multi-GPU and multi-node distributed training and inference.
• Experience designing and implementing microservices.
• Preferred: experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms, agile environments and Jira, and ML systems in healthcare or regulated environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python.
• Proficiency in Java (and/or Kotlin/Scala) or C++.
• Relational databases and/or NoSQL systems (e.g. knowledge graphs).
• Git and collaborative development workflows.
