Senior (Chief) Architect

About the role

Netcompany is looking for a Senior (Chief) Architect to shape the future of digital wallet ecosystems and secure communication solutions across Europe. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders, from public sector organisations to standards bodies, to define and evolve interoperable, secure digital identity services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate technical working groups with industry, public sector and trust service partners.
• Evaluate and guide the design of digital wallet reference architectures, trust frameworks, security models and interoperability approaches.
• Provide expertise on secure communication protocols such as Messaging Layer Security (MLS), Matrix, Signal, Registered Electronic Mail (REM) and eDelivery.
• Define security, assurance and trust requirements, including access control, strong authentication, key management, encryption, auditability and non‑repudiation.
• Contribute to technical specifications for cross‑border digital identity ecosystems, including APIs, data models and interoperability frameworks.
• Translate eIDAS regulatory requirements into practical technical architectures and operational models.
• Support conformance, compliance and interoperability testing strategies.
• Produce technical analyses, architectural recommendations and decision‑support material for governance bodies.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in communication infrastructures, secure communications, digital identity, trust services, cybersecurity or distributed systems.
• Proven track record delivering architecture and design for digital wallet ecosystems or secure communication platforms.
