Senior Accounting Manager – Head of General Ledger

About the role

Kpler is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to lead its Global Ledger (GL) function. You will oversee a team of General Ledger accountants, ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial data across multiple international entities, and drive process improvements in a fast‑growing commodities and energy business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of 5–6 General Ledger accountants.
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including GL, fixed assets, payroll, VAT and related activities.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year‑end close processes for all group entities.
• Maintain compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Author and maintain definitive position papers on accounting treatments.
• Liaise with external auditors during group audit processes.
• Drive process improvements, automation and standardisation within accounting functions.
• Collaborate with AP/AR, FP&A, Treasury, Tax and other finance partners on cross‑functional initiatives.
• Implement an empowered delegation framework to free strategic bandwidth.
• Provide mentorship and structured support to junior team members.
• Support the Finance Director with ad‑hoc financial analysis and strategic projects.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Significant experience leading accounting teams in a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.
• Proven ability to manage complex month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Experience working with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Demonstrated track record of driving process automation and standardisation.
