QA Automation Engineer – FinTech (Hybrid)

About the role

Join a leading European financial market infrastructure organization as a QA Automation Engineer. You will work on a clearing platform, designing and maintaining automated tests for UI, APIs and databases while collaborating with international teams.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse functional requirements and understand business logic of the clearing platform.
• Execute manual smoke tests to validate critical user journeys before automation.
• Design, develop and maintain end‑to‑end automated tests for UI (Playwright, Cypress or Selenium) and APIs (REST and GraphQL).
• Validate test results by interacting with backend databases and performing SQL queries.
• Work with large Git repositories, manage branches, create and review merge/pull requests.
• Use AI‑based tools to accelerate test development and support manual testing.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform root‑cause analysis together with development and operations teams.

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field.
• Fluent English (written and spoken); Greek is a plus.
• 2‑4 years of experience in QA automation.
• Ability to quickly understand and extend complex existing test codebases.

Required skills

• Playwright (or Cypress / Selenium) for UI testing.
• JavaScript or TypeScript.
• REST and GraphQL API testing.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and data validation.
• Advanced Git usage and structured code reviews.
• Familiarity with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools (optional).
