Operations Manager – Ballast Water Treatment Systems

About the role

As Operations Manager – BWTS you will lead and support technical operations dedicated to Ballast Water Treatment Systems, guiding field engineers, project managers and partners while reporting to the Technical Director.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑level technical support to project managers, sales engineers and field engineers on all BWTS matters.
• Manage and develop the BWTS technical team – job allocation, coaching, training and performance evaluation.
• Recruit and onboard new BWTS engineers in collaboration with HR.
• Ensure compliance with Mr. Marine’s QHSE policies and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
• Lead complex BWTS service and modernization projects from design to installation.
• Analyse technical issues, lead troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation, standards and regulatory requirements (Flag, Class, OEMs).
• Act as the technical point of contact for clients, supporting commercial and operational teams.
• Participate in on‑call technical support rotation outside office hours.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or associate degree (EQF 6/7) in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or Automation Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years of hands‑on marine systems experience with significant exposure to BWTS.
• At least 3 years in a management or technical leadership role.
• Proven knowledge of marine instrumentation and automation, and familiarity with IMO, BWT Convention and related regulations.
