Service Engineer – Elevators (Athens)

About the role

The Service Engineer will provide technical support, field service, maintenance, repairs and inspections for marine elevator systems based in Athens, reporting to the Senior Technical Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Perform technical and periodic inspections of traction, escalator, hydraulic and rack‑and‑pinion elevators.
• Carry out planned, preventive and corrective maintenance, including major mechanical repairs, replacements and adjustments.
• Troubleshoot complex elevator malfunctions and conduct electrical and mechanical repairs.
• Execute technical site surveys, modernisation projects and retrofits.
• Maintain detailed service records, parts usage and customer interactions while ensuring safety at all times.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in electrical, electronics or instrumentation engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the elevator industry covering installation, repair, troubleshooting and service.
• Strong knowledge of elevator codes, industry standards and health‑and‑safety rules for marine environments.
• Excellent English communication skills and a second language.
• Willingness to travel regionally and internationally and to work offshore and at heights.

Required skills

• Extensive experience with traction elevators (multi‑brand preferred).
• Experience with escalators, hydraulic elevators and rack‑and‑pinion elevators.
• Knowledge of multi‑brand inverter drives and controllers.
• Proficiency in electrical and mechanical repairs and adjustments.
