Manager, Accounting & Tax

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Manager, Accounting & Tax to lead client engagements within our Athens office. You will combine technical accounting and tax expertise with leadership and project‑management skills to deliver high‑quality services to our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage accounting, tax compliance, and advisory engagements, ensuring adherence to Greek GAAP, IFRS and relevant tax legislation.
• Oversee accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations and monthly, quarterly and year‑end closings.
• Review and approve financial statements and management reports prepared under Greek GAAP and IFRS.
• Implement and optimise accounting systems, contributing to process‑improvement initiatives.
• Prepare and submit corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, transfer‑pricing documentation and other statutory filings on time.
• Monitor changes in accounting standards and tax law, advising clients on regulatory impacts.
• Coordinate tax audits and act as primary contact with tax authorities.
• Manage project delivery to meet time, budget and quality standards.
• Build and maintain long‑term client relationships by delivering practical, value‑added solutions.
• Lead, coach and evaluate a team of professionals, fostering collaboration and development.
• Collaborate with consulting, legal, payroll and other service lines to provide integrated solutions.
• Support business development through proposal preparation and client presentations.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in accounting and tax advisory or compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Greek GAAP; familiarity with IFRS and US GAAP is a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Advanced IT proficiency, especially Microsoft Office.
