Legal Assistant

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Legal Assistant to support the operation of its accommodation centre for unaccompanied migrant children in Patra, Greece. The role contributes to the “Operation of K.F.A.A. Patra” project, ensuring that legal counselling and related services are delivered effectively to vulnerable beneficiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal counselling and information to unaccompanied migrant children and their families.
• Assist the Shelter Coordinator and National Project Officer in monitoring compliance with project guidelines.
• Prepare and maintain legal documentation, case files and reports related to migration and asylum matters.
• Coordinate with partner organisations, interpreters and other service providers to ensure timely delivery of legal support.
• Support the organisation of legal‑related activities, workshops and awareness sessions within the centre.

Required profile

• University degree in Law.
• Experience or familiarity with migration, asylum or child protection contexts is desirable.
• Ability to work with vulnerable children and multicultural teams.
• Strong communication skills in Greek and English.
