Junior Legal Counsel – Compliance

About the role

MSC is looking for a motivated Junior Legal Counsel to join its Corporate Legal Compliance Team in Piraeus, Greece. The role supports the implementation of MSC’s global compliance programme and works closely with colleagues in Geneva and other worldwide stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Support the rollout of MSC’s Compliance Program across the Group.
• Deliver compliance training and awareness initiatives to MSC companies worldwide.
• Provide guidance on business ethics matters such as gifts, entertainment and corporate hospitality.
• Conduct third‑party due diligence and assist with integrity, sanctions and compliance assessments.
• Review compliance‑related contractual provisions and engage with third parties.
• Assist in responding to compliance questionnaires from customers, vendors and other partners.
• Contribute to compliance communications, reporting and awareness activities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on ethics and compliance issues across multiple jurisdictions.

Required profile

• Law degree (LL.B. or equivalent); postgraduate qualifications (LL.M., M.Sc.) are a plus.
• 1–3 years of experience in a law firm or in a legal/compliance department of a multinational organization.
• Exposure to corporate compliance topics such as anti‑bribery, anti‑corruption, sanctions and data protection.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French or Italian is an asset.
• Basic understanding of shipping, logistics and international trade or a strong interest in these areas.
• High integrity, professionalism and commitment to ethical business practices.
