Industrial Software Engineer - SCADA/HMI

About the role

AS Hellas, an automation company and Siemens Solution Partner since 2009, is looking for an Industrial Software Engineer in Thessaloniki. You will design and develop HMI and SCADA applications for industrial automation projects, working with automation engineers, project teams and customers. The position is primarily office-based, with occasional site visits for commissioning, testing and troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze operational and technical requirements.
• Design, develop, test and maintain HMI/SCADA applications using object-oriented programming and software engineering best practices.
• Develop application functionality, interfaces, scripts and software components.
• Integrate applications with PLCs, databases and external systems.
• Take part in software architecture, system design and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot, optimize and support software throughout its lifecycle.
• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Automation Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of software development experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, and good communication and teamwork.
• Willingness to learn industrial technologies and occasionally support project commissioning.

Required skills

• Strong object-oriented programming and software engineering knowledge.
• Nice to have: HMI/SCADA development, Siemens WinCC, C++, JavaScript, VB/VBScript, SQL, Git, and industrial automation project experience.
