Head of Accounting

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Accounting to lead the accounting function of a well‑established industrial production company. The role reports to the CFO and is responsible for ensuring compliance with Greek tax legislation, IFRS reporting and the efficient operation of the ERP and myDATA processes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting processes, ensuring accurate accounting and tax treatment in line with Greek legislation and company policies.
• Prepare and review financial statements according to Greek GAAP, IFRS and corporate tax requirements.
• Manage fixed assets, inventory accounting and the year‑end closing procedures.
• Ensure timely transmission of accounting and invoicing data to the myDATA platform and optimise invoicing through the ERP system.
• Coordinate the annual audit, acting as the primary contact for external auditors.
• Lead, develop and evaluate the accounting team, fostering collaboration with other departments.
• Support the CFO on accounting, tax and financial reporting matters and drive continuous improvement of the finance function.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of senior accounting or accounting‑management experience.
• A’ Class Accountant signatory rights/license.
• Strong knowledge of Greek Accounting Standards, Greek tax legislation, VAT, withholding taxes, myDATA, VIES and Intrastat.
• Proficiency with IFRS and preparation of financial statements.
• Professional certifications or specialised training in Accounting, Finance or Taxation is a plus.
• Fluency in English is an advantage.
