Head of Accounting

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Accounting to lead the accounting function across two legal entities in Athens. You will act as the primary liaison for local accounting matters, working closely with Global Business Services and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly and year‑end close processes, preparing financial statements and supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Greek tax legislation, direct and indirect filings, and timely MyDATA submissions.
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and review local contracts for proper accounting treatment.
• Maintain internal controls in line with Internal Audit requirements.
• Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis and support strategic initiatives for the CFO.

Required profile

• Class A Licensed Accountant with 8‑10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Greek GAAP, IFRS and Greek tax regulations.
• Proactive, hands‑on attitude with excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
