Accounting Manager

About the role

FlexCar is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the end‑to‑end accounting function for its Greek entities. Based at the headquarters in Athens, you will oversee all core accounting activities and ensure compliance with local and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full accounting cycle across all Greek Group entities, including AP, AR, Fixed Assets and General Accounting.
• Manage, coach and develop the accounting team to achieve high performance and clear ownership.
• Own monthly and year‑end closing processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, accruals and provisions.
• Oversee tax and regulatory compliance such as VAT, VIES, Intrastat, withholding taxes, corporate income tax and MyDATA.
• Participate in group consolidation, intercompany reconciliations and accounting oversight of international subsidiaries.
• Maintain compliance with IFRS, local accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Lead statutory and tax audits, working closely with external auditors and advisors.
• Continuously improve accounting policies, internal controls, ERP workflows and automation.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or a related field.
• 7‑10 years of relevant accounting experience with hands‑on technical expertise.
• Proven experience leading and developing accounting teams and managing an end‑to‑end function.
• Holder of a Class A Accountant‑Tax Consultant license with signing authority in Greece.
• Strong knowledge of Greek accounting and tax requirements, including VAT, MyDATA and statutory compliance.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and data analysis.
• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS, including IFRS 16.
• Experience with financial statement consolidation.
