Guest Service Officer

About the role

The Guest Service Officer provides friendly, passionate, and committed support to guests aboard the vessel. Acting as the first point of contact, the officer listens actively, resolves issues, and ensures a high level of guest satisfaction throughout the cruise.

Key responsibilities

• Assist guests with inquiries, concerns, and requests, delivering timely and courteous solutions.
• Handle cash transactions, process payments, and maintain accurate records of US currency and exchange rates.
• Communicate effectively with guests, department heads, and shipboard staff to negotiate resolutions.
• Operate basic office equipment such as telephones, computers, and copy machines.
• Maintain a professional demeanor, demonstrating a strong sense of humor and hospitality.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of experience in a customer‑contact role within the hotel or related hospitality industry.
• At least one year of cash‑handling experience with knowledge of US currency.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Willingness to work onboard for a period of 5‑6 months.

Required skills

• Excellent verbal and written English communication.
• Ability to read and interpret written procedures.
• Proficiency in operating basic office equipment.
