About the role
Prepare and cook pastry items according to recipes, quality and presentation standards in a luxury hotel kitchen. Ensure food safety, sanitation and proper handling of equipment while supporting the culinary team.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients, portion, chop and store food before cooking.
- Use baking and measuring tools and appliances safely to produce baked goods.
- Monitor and maintain correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, reporting any issues.
- Wash, disinfect the kitchen area, set up and break down work stations, and follow sanitation procedures.
- Check the quality and portion sizes of food throughout the shift.
- Ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and personal hygiene procedures.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Less than one year of related pastry or kitchen experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 25 lb and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work on sloping, uneven or slippery surfaces and reach overhead.
