Group Financial Controller

About the role

The Group Financial Controller will work directly with the General Manager of a leading industrial manufacturer of wooden pallets and packaging solutions. The role is responsible for overseeing the group’s financial activities, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting day‑to‑day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for the Group’s financial management and performance monitoring.
• Run and coordinate the annual budgeting process, track budget vs. actuals and explain deviations.
• Maintain forecasts, oversee cash‑flow and liquidity, and develop management reports, KPIs and basic financial models.
• Produce and review financial statements, ensuring consistency across the Group.
• Oversee monthly and annual closing processes, meeting deadlines and complying with Greek GAAP, tax and statutory requirements.
• Manage bank relationships, monitor receivables and credit exposure, and support collections.
• Partner with commercial and operations teams on cost tracking, pricing, margin follow‑up and production efficiency.
• Act as the main contact for external auditors and liaise with financial advisors.
• Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring internal controls and continuous improvement of reporting tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business; MSc, MBA or ACCA/CFA/CPA preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in financial controlling, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting and cash‑flow management.
• Strong knowledge of Greek GAAP and tax regulations.
• Fluency in Greek and English, both written and verbal.
