Financial Officer – EU Funded Projects

About the role

KMOP is seeking a proactive Financial Officer to support the financial management of EU‑funded and internationally funded projects. You will work closely with Project Managers and the Accounting Department to ensure compliance, accurate budgeting, and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with grant agreements, donor regulations and reporting requirements.
• Monitor project budgets, identify issues and assist Project Managers.
• Review expenditures against approved budgets and verify supporting documentation.
• Record project‑related financial transactions in the organisation’s financial management system.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, interim and final financial reports in line with donor guidelines.
• Support preparation of calls and service contracts for external collaborators.
• Review partners’ financial reports and verify eligibility of expenditures.
• Identify discrepancies between forecasts, budgets and actual spending.
• Liaise with the Accounting Department for payment processing, reconciliation and tracking.
• Assist in internal and external audits of donor contracts.
• Review grant, consortium and partnership agreements from a financial compliance perspective when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience managing finances of European‑funded projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English.
• Working knowledge of ERP and CRM software packages.
