Director of Actuarial & Risk Management

About the role

The Director of Actuarial & Risk Management will lead the actuarial and risk functions of a leading insurance organization in Thessaloniki. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures compliance with regulatory frameworks and supports strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate actuarial and risk management activities, aligning them with senior management objectives.
• Ensure the Risk Management Framework complies with Solvency II and Greek insurance regulations.
• Lead ORSA processes and regulatory reporting, including interaction with the Bank of Greece.
• Manage actuarial tasks such as technical reserves, pricing, and actuarial analysis.
• Monitor the company’s risk profile and drive mitigation strategies.
• Provide analysis, insights, and recommendations to senior management and the Board.
• Collaborate with Finance, Underwriting, Compliance, Internal Audit, and Legal for an integrated risk approach.
• Track regulatory developments and implement necessary changes.
• Promote continuous improvement of actuarial, risk, and regulatory processes.

Required profile

• University degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics or Finance; Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional certifications such as FIA, FRM, PRM, CFA are a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in insurance actuarial and/or risk management leadership.
• Strong knowledge of Solvency II, ORSA and the Greek insurance regulatory framework.
• Proven experience interacting with supervisory authorities, especially the Bank of Greece.
