Cloud Operations Engineer

About the role

Netcompany is hiring a Cloud Operations Engineer to work from Athens, Greece on international projects for its clients in Denmark and the Netherlands. You will oversee sub-projects, run daily stand-ups, report status to customers or project managers and lead your team while a project manager supports you.

Key responsibilities

• Manage one or more business-critical systems, ensuring continuous monitoring, backups, scripting and platform tuning
• Collaborate on security, problem solving and process optimisation, and take part in safety testing, incident, problem and change management
• Contribute to operation projects such as large-scale technology transitions, including planning and implementation
• Maintain cloud environments on Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud, and build new environments in a DevOps team
• Use cloud tooling to manage and monitor infrastructure, and respond to customer requests, changes and incidents using ITIL practices
• Report tasks, activities and SLA goals, and coach junior team members

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a relevant discipline
• 2-3 years of hands-on experience as a system, operations, SRE or DevOps engineer in a cloud environment
• Commitment to keeping up with new technologies and knowledge sharing
• Structured, able to organise your own time, with written and spoken English proficiency

Required skills

• Kubernetes on-premises and Azure services
• Terraform and Ansible (Infrastructure as Code)
• Solid Linux skills
• Scripting in Bash, PowerShell or Python
• Working knowledge of Kafka is a plus

A plus: Azure DevOps / Git, Snowflake, Cloudflare or similar WAF/CDN, cryptography and TLS/SSL management, cloud security principles, and computer networks (HTTP, TCP, UDP, DNS).
