Chief Engineer – Luxury Resorts (Corfu & Crete)

About the role

The Chief Engineer will lead the engineering and maintenance operations for luxury resort properties in Corfu and Crete, ensuring all physical assets, technical facilities and utilities operate safely and efficiently. Reporting to the Hotel General Manager and indirectly to the HQ Maintenance Manager, the role combines hands‑on technical work with team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance operations, work orders and engineering projects, ensuring timely completion.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programmes for all hotel equipment and facilities.
• Maintain mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and building infrastructure.
• Monitor utilities and energy consumption, driving initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, technical standards, quality requirements and Health & Safety policies.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors, consultants and external service providers.
• Manage maintenance contracts, spare parts, tools and equipment, controlling costs.
• Lead, recruit, train and develop the maintenance team.
• Respond to technical issues and equipment failures with prompt troubleshooting.
• Support environmental objectives through efficient use of energy and water.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering and maintenance experience in the hospitality sector.
• Proven experience supervising maintenance teams and managing technical operations of large hotel properties.
• Strong hands‑on expertise across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and building systems.
• Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance and technical project management.
