Caregiver for Unaccompanied Migrant Children (Patra, Greece)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a dedicated Caregiver to support unaccompanied migrant children residing in its Patra shelter. The role involves providing daily care, ensuring safety, and facilitating access to essential services within a humanitarian environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist children with personal hygiene, dressing, and meals.
• Monitor health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to the Shelter Coordinator.
• Support educational and recreational activities, including Greek language lessons and intercultural events.
• Provide emotional support and basic psychosocial assistance.
• Collaborate with legal, medical, and social teams to ensure comprehensive care.

Required profile

• High school diploma obtained in Greece or equivalent foreign qualification.
• Experience or training in child protection, care of unaccompanied minors, or related fields.
• Ability to work in a multicultural setting and communicate effectively with children and staff.
• Commitment to the humanitarian principles of IOM.

Required skills

• Knowledge of child protection standards and vulnerability management.
• Basic first‑aid awareness.
• Ability to maintain accurate records of daily activities.
