Social Worker – Accommodation Center (Patra)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Social Worker to join its Accommodation Center for Unaccompanied Migrant Children in Patra, Greece. Reporting to the Shelter Coordinator and under the supervision of the National Project Officer, the incumbent will support the delivery of shelter services within the Greece Programme – Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the orderly operation of the assigned accommodation centre for unaccompanied minors.
• Provide psychosocial support, legal counselling, and interpretation services to beneficiaries.
• Facilitate access to basic needs such as food, hygiene, medical care, and educational programmes.
• Organise intercultural activities, work and career guidance, and Greek language learning support.
• Collaborate with IOM staff, partners and local authorities to implement project objectives.

Required profile

• Relevant experience working with unaccompanied migrant children or vulnerable populations.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and respect IOM’s inclusive values.
• Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of Greek is an advantage.
• Commitment to the humanitarian principles of IOM.
