Accountant – Shipping & Finance

About the role

Laskaridis Maritime S.A. is seeking a motivated Accountant to support the financial operations of its shipping fleet. The role involves processing invoices, managing accounts, and preparing financial reports in a dynamic maritime environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process invoice data entries and ensure accurate recording of business transactions.
• Assist in updating accounts payable, perform bank reconciliations, and manage the Master’s General Account (MGA) of the fleet.
• Prepare periodic shipping reports, including TCE, inventory accounting/FIFO, and supplier payment schedules.
• Liaise with crew aboard, the crew department, and on‑shore accounts teams.
• Support quarterly closing, trial balance preparation, and financial statement compilation.
• Develop budget and cash‑flow reports and handle ad‑hoc accounting projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Shipping; postgraduate studies or professional qualifications are a plus.
• 0‑3 years of experience in a shipping company or reputable accounting firm.
• Excellent command of Greek and English.
• Strong analytical, communication and teamwork abilities, with a capacity to work independently and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of IFRS.
• Familiarity with Greek VAT and Greek Shipping management company tax framework (Law 89).
• Experience with Shipping ERP systems (preferred).
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
