Senior Accountant

About the role

TERNA ENERGY, a member of the MASDAR Group, is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to manage the full spectrum of accounting activities, ensure compliance with Greek GAAP and IFRS, and support tax and audit processes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and oversee the chart of accounts, ensuring accurate financial records and monthly provisions.
• Manage reconciliations and journal entries for timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and submit monthly and annual tax returns (VAT, WHT, Income Tax, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with the My Data platform.
• Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with GAAP (IFRS knowledge a plus).
• Support year‑end audit and coordinate with external auditors.
• Liaise with banks, external consultants and other parties on accounting and tax matters.
• Implement company policies, investor requirements and regulatory standards.
• Participate in budget and cash‑flow preparation.
• Handle ad‑hoc financial requests across departments.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Assist with system enhancements to improve financial reporting.

Required profile

• BA in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field; Master’s degree or professional qualification is a plus.
• 5‑7 years of accounting experience; Big 4 background is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Greek GAAP and Tax Law.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Organizational skills, consistent deadline delivery and a team‑oriented mindset.
