Senior Reporting Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Reporting Accountant to join a leading Renewables Energy group. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will ensure accurate financial reporting under Greek GAAP and IFRS, handling complex project accounting and group closing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Execute revenue recognition under IFRS 15 using Percentage of Completion for EPC and construction projects.
• Calculate and monitor project cost variations and their impact on profit margins and forecasts.
• Prepare and review Deferred Tax (IAS 12) positions, including tax loss carryforwards.
• Oversee IFRS 16 lease accounting and fixed‑asset movements across group entities.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and year‑end closing processes, ensuring full IFRS compliance.
• Prepare Group Reporting Packages with complete audit trails for accruals, provisions, payroll, depreciation and IFRS adjustments.
• Conduct trial‑balance reconciliations (bank, AP/AR, fixed assets, intercompany) before final reporting upload.
• Analyse variances between actual performance and budget/forecast (P&L, balance sheet, CAPEX, OPEX).
• Support external auditors during statutory and group audits.
• Collaborate with tax consultants to provide data for statutory and tax filings (CIT, VAT, etc.).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• 5‑8 years of experience in financial reporting and general‑ledger accounting.
• Hands‑on experience with IFRS in project‑based sectors such as EPC, construction, energy or heavy industry.
• Strong background in month‑end closing, trial‑balance reviews and intercompany reconciliations.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex functions, data modelling, PivotTables).
• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS standards (including IFRS 15, IFRS 16).
• Understanding of IAS 12 Deferred Tax calculations.
• Familiarity with Greek GAAP.
